About
This site collects charts about one turning point: August 15, 1971, when the United States ended the convertibility of the dollar into gold.
Every chart is built from public data, mostly from US government agencies, and every chart lists its source. The charts are interactive: you can hover, zoom and share them.
We do not claim that 1971 explains everything. The goal is to show the data clearly and let you draw your own conclusions.
